About Bratton View
After living and working in Central London we moved to North Devon in 2003 to retire. We loved the view and the house so much we decided it would be selfish to keep it to ourselves !
We have made our home welcome to our guests who come from around the country to experience an incredible vista and all the home comforts you will need for a peaceful weekend or a comfortable long stay.
Bratton View occupies the ground floor and is completely independent of Farm Gate – where I live with my husband. You’ve got your own space in this wonderful location situated down a private lane, our property enjoys stunning views over the North Devon countryside, even as far as Hartland Point and the sea. The beauty of this location means you’re so close to Exmoor National Park, without the isolation that some more rural areas bring – you can be in Barnstaple within 15 minutes.
Your Home from home comforts
With your own front door from the patio, you enter into the comfortable centrally-heated lounge with a TV and multi-fuel burner for those cosy evenings in the Autumn and Winter. In the apartment there is a fully fitted kitchen with everything you need to make your snacks and picnics for the days ahead.
The bedroom has a king or twin beds. En-suite to the bedroom is a brand new high-spec wet room with under-floor heating and heated towel rail. There is also a range of books and maps at your disposal.

I enjoy my painting and craft work and some of my paintings are around the apartment. All the furniture is hand-painted creating a wonderful homely and vintage feel.
You can be sure of a real home cooked breakfast with all of the trimmings served to you in your apartment at a time of your suiting – be that 6am or 12pm, whichever suits you best. Fresh fruit salad , juices , choices of cereals and homemade marmalade and jam on offer as well.
For those who prefer more privacy Bratton View is happy to accept guests on a self-catering basis. Or why not mix and match? You decide.
Providing your gateway to Exmoor
You’ve got so many options here – make the most of exploring the wilds of Exmoor or relax on the patio with the view, a good book and a glass of wine. If you don’t want to leave civilization behind completely, Barnstaple is just 15 minutes away.
